VOL NAVY INFO, RULES, TERMS & CONDITIONS, AND FAQ
-Don’t be rude to anyone. We all are spirited about our teams, but this is a fun and festive sailgate atmosphere for fans of both teams, including any vessel we use. We often have supporters from both teams onboard.
-Be respectful to boat owners’ property. Where the boats are located might change from week to week and depends on the number of boats in place before we arrive. Vol Navy boat placement is on a first come, first serve basis. If we are not directly against the dock, many boat owners will allow us to walk across their back swim decks or even cockpits to access the boats we use. Be very respectful of their boat and property.
-No entry into any Captain’s Quarters on any boat.
-Don’t take anything that doesn’t belong to you. Other guests may be on the boat on the same experience. Do not take their (or our) food, drinks, or property.
-Keep alcohol consumption to a reasonable amount. If you or any guest becomes an issue, you will be asked to leave without a refund.
-No drug use of any kind is allowed. There is a zero tolerance on this and you will be asked to leave without a refund if you bring any drugs onboard any vessel.
-Don’t be loud. Celebrate, enjoy, have fun, but not in an obnoxious kind of way.
-I prefer no glass (bottles, plates, cups, etc…).
VOL NAVY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
-No refunds unless the game is cancelled. If the game is postponed, your payment will cover the new date. If we are not able to accommodate you on the postponed date, you will then receive a refund.
-If you cancel and new guests can take your place, you will be refunded up to the amount the new guests paid or you paid, whichever is lower.
-The price is per person except for the buyout that gets you up to the capacity of that boat.
VOL NAVY FAQ
Q: How can we book a Vol Navy experience?
A: To request a Vol Navy experience, text, call, or email, at 865 {dash} 919 {dash} 2338 or Kevin {{at}} kevinflint.net. Once you are accepted, a temporary hold will be placed on your experience until payment is received. Your experience is not booked until payment has been processed.
Q: What kind of payments do you take?
A: Cash, Venmo or PayPal (friends and family setting), or credit card. Once you are accepted for an experience, I will send you a link with your preferred method of payment. Ask about other forms of payment.
Q: What time are we allowed to start our Vol Navy sailgating experience?
A: The morning of the game. The later the game starts, the longer you will have to sailgate. You can also come back after the game to hangout for a bit. Feel free to leave anything onboard and retrieve it after the game or the next day.
Q: Does the boat ever leave the dock?
A: No! This is NOT a charter and your boat does not move. Boats are tied to the dock or another boat the entire time.
Q: Can we leave things on the boat during the game?
A: Absolutely! When you leave for the game, we will hold onto all of your food, drinks, and items. You can come by and pickup everything you left after the game or the next day.
Q: What if we are not attending the game?
A: If you or someone in your party is not attending the game, let me know so I can make sure a tv is setup to watch the game on. Besides Neyland Stadium, the best place to watch the game is on a boat outside the stadium! Every time we score, all the boat owners blow their horns and fireworks go off at the stadium.
Q: Can we continue sailgating after the game?
A: Yes. The amount of time would depend on the start time. For noon games, come by afterwards and continue your tailgating experience. For 3:30 and 4 p.m. games, many guests come by and hangout for a while afterwards. If it is 7:30 p.m. game, there will be limited time to tailgate before quiet time.
Q: Can I bring food and drinks? Are any food or drink provided?
A: You can bring all the food and drinks you want. Many guests pickup catering meals from Calhoun’s, Buddy’s, or other restaurants. We always offer snacks, water, coolers, ice, and a refrigerator, but not a meal or other drinks.
Q: Can I pay you to get catering for us?
A: If you tell me what you want, I can help you get a quote from a catering company for you and have it delivered.
Q: Can I bring food and drinks early?
A: Yes! Come by on Friday (sometimes Thursday too) to load all of your supplies onboard. I will communicate with you where we are located on the day you would like to load-in. I will keep your drinks cold!
Q: Do you have coolers?
A: Absolutely! We typically keep multiple coolers onboard each boat during Vol Navy experiences, plus some kind of refrigerator.
Q: What types of boats do you offer?
A: The type of boat we offer depends on the size of the party. Small groups are often on a 30-ish foot SeaRay or Carver. Larger groups are on large houseboats that are 60- to 70-feet. Others are on 40-ish foot vessels.
Q: Do you have seats?
A: We do! All boats have multiple seats ranging from couches to camping chairs to boat chairs.
Q: Do you have TVs?
A: We do! Each boats will have at least one TV.
Q: What if we need to use the restroom?
A: We have a restroom on each boat with running water and a toilet.
Q: Where can I park?
A: Contact me before game day and ask about the best locations to park for that particular game. Sometimes I can drive a golf cart to pick you up. This would depend on where you park and what time you arrive. The closest parking lot to the Vol Navy docks is at Calhoun’s On The River. They currently charge for parking on game days, but parking is free on Fridays and Sundays if you load food and drinks in or out. Rideshares like Uber and Lyft use Calhoun’s On The River as a pickup and drop-off location for the Vol Navy.
Q: Is parking included?
A: No. All parking spots near the docks at Neyland Stadium are private and each owner charges for his or her spots. Communicate with me before game day and I can assist in helping you locate a spot.
Q: How will we find you and get onboard?
A: During the week of the game, I will communicate with you on where we are located for that week. The docks are a first come, first serve and we are typically in different locations throughout the season. We may have to get to the boat by walking across the back swim platform or cockpits of other boats.
Q: Can we spend the night?
A: Overnight is NOT included in this Vol Navy experience.
Q: How many people can I book an experience for?
A: It depends on the boat, but typically eight to 25 capacity. The number of spots remaining will depend on the number of guests that have already reserved each boat.
Q: Can I book every spot and have a private experience?
A: Absolutely! You can book all spots and have the experience with as few of people as you want! Some boats include a “buyout” price that will save you some money.
Q: What if a friend comes by for five minutes, do they have to pay?
A: In general, a Vol Navy experience is for paid guests. With that said, we sometimes have friends of guests stop by for five minutes for various reasons. Communicate with us before game day on anything like that.
Q: Will you and Meg be there?
A: One of us will always be around, but we often bounce between boats. Most of the time, both of us will be around, as well as our dog Luna.
